AMC8 Pioneer Class

During this unusual situation with schools' closure, if you are in middle school, like math and want to take AMC8 or simply just want some improvement, please send an email to us. We will use MS Teams to conduct the online training. There are 2 sessions per week: Monday and Thursday, 2:00 - 2:50PM PDT. This math class is free until the end of the Summer break (August 27th, 2020).

Wilson Liu

Wilson is a high schooler. He got a full score on AMC8 and 1st place trophies in major state-wide Math competitions, like Math is cool, Washington State Mathematics Championship, MathCounts, etc. He got DHR(top 1%) in AMC 10, HR (top 5%) in AMC 12, and has qualified for AIME 3 times.

Aaron Gao
Aaron enjoys doing math and has participated in math competitions since elementary school. He has qualified for the AIME and has placed first individually at Math Is Cool Masters. He represented the school at Math Is Cool Masters for five years and MathCounts for three years.

The Art of Problem Solving, Vol 1: The Basics
We may not be able to cover the whole book and will adjust the pace according to students' feedbacks.

Other things to keep in mind

1. Eat healthy but not too much before the class. Water is fine, don't eat during sessions;
2. Enter the classroom 10 minutes early to test and configure your Teams;

3. Change your nickname to "your name & grade" (e.g. Wilson 9) for teaching purposes;
4. Take your class in a quiet room;
5. Mute your microphone if it's not your turn to talk, do not mute others' microphones;
6. Turn off cameras during the class, the whiteboard is on screen for most of the time;
7. Have your book ready;
8. We do not check or respond to email during class time;
9. Check Teams and this webpage frequently for updates and progress. We don't often send email.
