ABF has always been committed to public welfare and actively promotes cultural introduction and communications. When Buddhists talk about learning English in smaller, more impoverished cities, they often bring up how the English teachers there are not fully adept in English, therefore harming the students ability to learn well not only now, but also in the future for things such as employment, career planning, and higher education. Ven. XingRen proposed both working with educators with decades of experience, and also using ABF as a platform to build a volunteer-led program for American-English teaching.

美佛寺一直致力于公益事业，并且积极推进民间文化交流 。当有居士提到国内，特别是非一线大城市现有的英文学习方式，对中小学生的英语掌握、运用和对未来升学、就业以及事业规划的潜在影响时，性仁法师提议以美佛寺平台为依托，与具有几十年教学经验的教育工作者合作，搭建起一个以志愿者为主导的美中英文交流、教授的桥梁。

ALTP (American Language Tutoring Program) is an online teaching program launched by ABF and DDUI. This program is designed particularly to help primary and secondary school students learning American English according to their ages and characteristics. Our teaching methods are flexible with many forms to choose from. By listening to and imitating an American teacher's reading, talking with the teacher, and having that teacher correct the child's pronunciation while simultaneously being encouraged to use English in real life dealing with real people, gradually, the students will improve their confidence and achieve their goal of being both brave and accurate in expressing their thoughts with correct pronunciation and grammar. We are seeing a lot of difficulties caused by not being able to speak English fluently. Many foreign students have a hard time studying because they do not understand the professors' lectures in class, which only makes their pursuit of higher education tougher. Working for a foreign company may also be challenging because of high English requirements in that position. Therefore, creating an environment for children to learn directly from native English speaking teachers at an early age is very helpful in not only improving their English test scores at school, but also building up a good foundation for their future careers and studies abroad. |

许多留学生在外国求学的过程中仍然会遇到很多语言上的困难。比如在课堂上听不懂教授讲课，生活中无法与当地人交流，甚至买菜购物都有问题，交友更是仅局限于自己国家来的留学生圈子。有些在外企工作的，也会因为职位对英语的要求高而无法胜任。因此，在中小学学习英语的时候，如果能与英语外教直接学习，就可以为自己未来在留学、工作中将会遇到的需要使用英语的情况打下坚实的基础。
我们的老师都是母语为英语的美国学生。和同龄人一起学习英语，没有压力，只有快乐和收获。

Learning method
After registration, ALTP will assign one academic counselor and one American English teacher for each student.
The teaching process includes three parts:
1st, students should read the textbook, familiarize themselves with the correct way to read it, and correct their pronunciation by following the recording;
2nd, actively participate in weekend classes with their American English teacher;
3rd, ask their teacher questions through email or teaching platform.
Reminders:
Because the teacher is an American, if you have questions about the curriculum or have issue communicating with the teacher, you can contact the academic counselor.
